Slow-Cooker Sweet Pork

Alexa Shields

A rich sauce of pineapple, lime, onion, soy sauce, brown sugar and spices draw out the flavorful juices of a simple boneless pork shoulder. Slow-cooked for hours, this roast falls apart, absorbing the rich sauce that is both sweet and salty, making it the ideal protein for tacos, sandwiches and burritos.

  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  •  2.5 Pounds Boneless Pork Shoulder
  • 1 Large White Onion, Chopped
  • 1 Jalapeno Chopped
  • ½ cup Pineapple Juice
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • ¼ cup Lime Juice
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Chile Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Ground Paprika
  • 3 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 1 Tsp. Black Pepper

Warm oil in large skillet on high. Season Pork Shoulder with Salt and Pepper. Brown Pork Shoulder on all sides, roughly 2 minutes per side. Place in Slow-cooker. Cover with chopped onion and jalapeño.

Mix pineapple juice, lime juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, chile powder, paprika, garlic and black pepper together. Pour over pork shoulder.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Roughly chop the pork and add back into the cooking liquid to warm through.
