Get ready for some heat! This recipe shows us how to achieve the perfect balance of creamy avocados, fresh vegetables and the heat of fiery serrano chiles.
- 4 Ripe Avocados
- ½ Red Onion, Finely Diced
- ½ cup Cilantro, Chopped
- 2 Jalapeños or Serrano Chiles, with Veins and Seeds Removed, Diced Finely
- Juice of 2 Limes
- Salt & Black Pepper to Taste
With a large knife, slice the avocados in half and remove pit. Scoop out of skin and place in a large bowl and cover in lime juice. Using a potato masher, mash avocado until almost smooth, leaving some chunks of avocado. Mix in red onion, cilantro, jalapeños or serranos, salt and pepper until well incorporated. Place in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.
